about US

Race Chip Timing was born from bike riders organising local events and being charged a small fortune by larger timing companies to time a small, 50-75 rider race.

We got together and purchased our own equipment and decided we would help other small events to save money by offering a professional service on a budget.

Race Chip Timing is run by family and friends who have full time jobs elsewhere and do this in their spare time, we do not need to charge the earth to give a good service.

Each participant of an event is given a disposable chip attached to a bib number or bike number.

This chip is unique to that participant and our equipment allows us to create a start/finish line controlled by antennas, electronically logging each participant as they cross that line, whether it be at the finish of an event or to record lap times - it is all possible!

As well as chip timing we also run a basic manual backup for an event organiser's peace of mind - and those that do not want to put all their eggs into an "electronic" basket.

Results are then produced in spreadsheet form that can be emailed to the event organiser and printed on site for presentations.
